Samik Bhattacharya, who filed his nomination today for the post of Bengal BJP chief and is likely to win unopposed, has issued a strong statement to Taaza TV, asserting that the party will not repeat the mistakes of the 2021 assembly elections in the upcoming 2026 polls. His remarks signal a renewed and aggressive strategy from the BJP to wrest control of West Bengal from the Trinamool Congress.

In a direct challenge to the ruling dispensation, Bhattacharya declared that the "Mamata government is a guest for a few days only." He further emphasized the unwavering commitment of the central leadership, stating, "Amit Shah's words are like a line in stone (Patthar ki lakeer)." Earlier, Amit Shah, during his Bengal visit, targeted the Trinamool government.

Acknowledging past setbacks, Bhattacharya candidly admitted, "We have made a mistake once, now we will not make a mistake."
